I got an email a couple weeks ago stating my car was built and on it's way. I have just emailed my VW dealer for an update, as it had been a while since I last heard anything and was wondering whether to book off extra holiday leave to pick up the car when it arrives. However on contacting my VW dealer today they replied with an apology and said sorry for the confusion but the car is not built yet, they were getting ahead of themselves and the car is confirmed to be built this week hopefully, finished and out of the factory by end of this week. I was originally given a build date of 01/08/16 which is next week. This means if I can believe the email my car has been moved forward a week earlier and should hopefully be built end of this week all going well.
This also means my query about accuracy of the VW Tracker has been answered... The answer is yes the Tracker is correct when it was stating stage 3 Build Week Confirmed. As my VW Dealer was the one who had confused the situation not the Tracker. My faith has been restored in using the VW Tracker
I am OK with the situation as the girl who has taken over the customer liason position is really good at what she does usually, so maybe she is just finding her feet in the new job role. I will let her off with this one. Plus although it delays the delivery of my car, it does make the decision of whether to pick it up before or after September 1st a lot easier. I would say if it takes at least 3 to 4 weeks max for the car to be delivered then I may as well wait the extra few days or week and get the new number plate. However if it delivered earlier and there is a few weeks to wait then I may weigh up my options.
