Just Got My Build Week!

Escaped from Emden! Yeah! Just got a "Your car is near to the UK" email, so presumably on a ship getting bathed in North Sea! The message says 10 days average to the dealer, so not too long to wait now.

Wouldn't be surprised if the car isn't already in the UK - you'll get the Stage 6 text tomorrow

Have you tried phoning VW CS on the 0800 number but your dealer should know whats going on.

Tbh, I have been reluctant to look like I am complaining to VW about the dealer.  I have had about enough now though.  Dealer has not even returned my calls for a week so it is time to become the squeaky wheel that might get some oil.

No luck .  I spoke to 'customer service' today and could only speak to a 'script reader' who was worse than useless.  No matter what question I tried he repeated "Sorry you are dissatisfied.  We are VW UK.  We only import the cars.  We know nothing about build date and cannot influence them.  Only your retailer can help"

I wonder if I would get my deposit back if I cancelled?

There's other numbers to call.  I can't remember who I spoke to back in the day, but there's a complaints team who get assigned your case when things aren't going to plan (ie. a step above VW CS) - if it wasn't for them and using their influence I'd probably still be waiting for my GTI    In fact, they've got more influence than your dealer who lets face it couldn't care less as he's already got his sale.

Tweet @vwukhelp and ask them for the provisional build week as you've been waiting for ages and you can't get hold of your salesperson.

Tweet @vwukhelp and ask them for the provisional build week as you've been waiting for ages and you can't get hold of your salesperson.

I also Tweeted @vwukhelp - they will give you a provisional build date, mine is middle of May but potentially earlier they said, I cannot wait, think I've got OCD with checking VW website for any changes as I'm still at stage 2 on there

Guys, chill out and stop worrying.
It will be here before you know it and well worth the wait.........

Received paperwork by email this afternoon including the reg, which is going to drive me nuts as it starts WV not VW 

As long as Eddie Stobart, their logistics partner can collect the car by Monday i will have the car for next Thursday, so just before Easter

Do they give you a list of available registrations to choose from??

Stobart don't do the car transport work anymore, it's recently been taken over by BCA, not that that should make any difference to your car delivery

We ran through a couple but nothing grabbed me so i just said surprise me!

My hire car goes back tomorrow so i'm going to be a public transport whore for the best part of a week, not going to lie public transport makes me feel dirty!
