Just Got My Build Week!

Grateful for any advice as to how to get a breakthrough.

Welcome to the forum. The dealer should have an order number and that way you can ask VW for a provisional build date.
You can also check it yourself on the VW tracker

Thanks.  I have an order number but nothing appears on the tracker other than 'with the factory'. Also signed up for sms and email updates.   I had an on-line chat via my VW account and was told that my dealer had to schedule the production date directly with the factory.  My dealer says that's nonsense and that he always orders for asap production.  Not sure who is pulling my leg.

Have you tried phoning VW CS on the 0800 number but your dealer should know whats going on.

Tbh, I have been reluctant to look like I am complaining to VW about the dealer.  I have had about enough now though.  Dealer has not even returned my calls for a week so it is time to become the squeaky wheel that might get some oil.

The dealer can't schedule a production date.
That is purely down to the factory.

You won't be complaining by asking for a build date. I used to tweet @vwukhelp with my order number and they would tweet back when my provisional build date was and then when I had 2 different confirmed build dates.

Received my 5C text message this morning which is strange as VW CS stated shipping would be delayed by 1-2 weeks. Not going to complain but it doesn't make me wonder if VW actually have any control over their logistics partners.

The whole VW Order tracker, text alert, email alert seems to be nothing short of a shambles. And now it seems not to be working! Or is it? Who knows certainly not VW or the dealer. Our dealer tells us the car is on it's way but customer services tell us it's in stage 7 of 8 at the factory. Never heard that before. It's been at the factory being built for 3 weeks. Wish i never had the order number to track it. So frustrating.

Our lease deal is based on taking delivery in March but with all the delays that may not happen. Will the deal get cancelled? I have not asked the dealer that question yet as dont want to hear the wrong answer!
All the finance docs are signed and the car has a reg number just no idea if it will be here for end of March.

Any thoughts anyone?

I've been saying this for ages, it's pointless having a tracking number. It just makes the wait even more frustrating than it already is.
Just wait for your dealer to let you know when it's arrived and get on with your life in the mean time.

I've been saying this for ages, it's pointless having a tracking number. It just makes the wait even more frustrating than it already is.
Just wait for your dealer to let you know when it's arrived and get on with your life in the mean time.

I just get the update from my dealer every two weeks. Was told today that it has been put back two weeks to week 14

That's impossible as you can't get a registration number until the car has physically reached the UK.

Well, the reg number cannot be officially assigned to the car, but it may have been allocated one from the dealer's list. [/PEDANT]
