According to the guy I spoke to, as soon as it arrives in the UK, your dealer is responsible for contacting the port to release and collect the car.
This can be done almost immediately apparently so I don't know what is causing your delay .

Dealer called tonight at 6. Car is at the dealership and ready to collect on Tuesday! Heading over to sign documents etc tomorrow evening.
Any advice on what I should be aware of whilst at the dealer's?
 I'm going to try to get a full tank of fuel, reduce the price of gap to £200ish, and politely remind them not to screw up the diamondbrite application. Anything else!?

Get GAP via ALA/Honest John. They're currently price matching & beating competitors by 20%, I got 3years and £15000 VRI cover for about £120 the other day instead of £200... (use motorpocket as the comparison quote).

just been informed my GTI has arrived at dealership  :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:
 . I will have to pop in and start the ball rolling ,
want to have quick look at it to make sure its ok ,. need to do the paperwork to transfer the reg plate
