I placed my order one month ago; Jan 29th......the VW tracker is still showing "processing order", it hasn't moved to "with factory" yet and obviously there's no build date.  I'm in no hurry but just wondered if I should have moved forward by now?  I suppose I should call the dealer but they're closed right now.
I've ordered a GTI PP manual.
Bubba.

I ordered mine on the 13/02 and within a week it was with the factory stage. It it due to be built on week 14 but that isn't yet confirmed so could move.

If I were you I would get in contact with your dealer. If for nothing else just peace of mind.

Ha, easier said than done - 'phoned today, no return call, hmmm.  I'll try email and see if there's a response.  Does it ever happen that dealers take an order when they've run out of allocations, and then have to wait for another allocation?
Bubba.
mk7 GTI now sold.  Gone but not forgotten.

My build week starts on the 7th March - doesn't stop me from updating the tracker multiple times a day though!

I sometimes wish I didn't know the order number!
I asked for my tracker number only 2 weeks ago after being told on here that my dealer was being a dick for not giving me it straight away.
Massive mistake on my part. As I said at the time, knowing your number doesn't make your car arrive any quicker, in fact it makes the waiting process even more unbearable.

I would hazard a guess yeah constantly. I've never once heard or read something along the lines of a dealer saying They were full for that month come back the following one. They will take your deposit and spin you along.

Just got my 6 of 7 text!!! In the UK! Here's hoping it arrives at the dealers soon! Thanks for your reply earlier p3asa.

Yes, mine too.

Spoke to my dealer in Northampton for a response on a collection date and he is sticking to the generic '10 days from now' theme. Not too helpful, but I suppose he won't really know until a transporter has been assigned.

Must be a logistical nightmare for them this time of year but I'm in a go with the flow type of mood. I'm sure there's people all over the country who have ordered various makes of cars getting all tetchy. It's a big twelve months for VW so their customer service has to be spot on. That handover will make ALL the difference for me ..

Hmm, as posted elsewhere, the wife and ordered ordered our new cars just this last Sunday (28th Feb 16) - A new GTI DSG (with toys) for me and a New Polo Blue GT DSG (with even more toys) for her.

Was really surprised therefore to have just have received a text saying that both cars had moved status. Just been to the on-line checker at the VW site and both cars have gone from stage 1 (Processing your order) to stage 2 (With the factory) in just 2 working days, and now says "Your order is with the factory and is currently being scheduled for production."

Is this some sort of record as on our last cars in 2013, it took about 6 weeks for it to even show up on the tracker !

Well, I just got an email+text saying that my car has been built and is in transit, so I never got a "being built" message. Happy bunny now, but I'm sure the impatiance will return before long.  :smug:

Reading through this thread, the whole system system seems to be a bit random, which I guess is partly down to the complications of producing cars with so many variables of specification and partly down to the tracking service being a relatively low priority. Either that, or the regular guy is on holiday and the tea lady is running the job!

With both the GTD estate and GTD hatch I had my tracking order in 5 and 3 days. Each time I checked the tracker when I got them and they were at the 'with the factory' stage both times.

I never bothered setting up the text notifications part.

Just had a call back from VW in reply to the email I sent them yesterday asking where the hell was my car.
It appears that it is STILL at the docks in Germany
Apparently it is normal at this time of year for the car to spend approximately 20 days gathering dust at a dock side.
What utter sh!te
