Do you know if this will fit a normal gti or does it have to be a PP?
It'll work fine on a 'normal' GTI. There really is little difference between the models and I'd bet the programming in the boxes sold for each model of mk7 GTI is pretty much identical. The R box is probably pretty much the same too.
I tried my old PP DTUK box on a non PP GTI and it worked fine and felt exactly the same as it did on the PP.
