Auto handbrake
« on: 24 January 2016, 20:26 »
Twice i've been caught out with this feature. once reversing out the drive and pulling from a junction. It's in auto mode drove it for a day no problems until now. it's like the brake is still applied and engine stalls? have my seat belt plugged in. What am i doing wrong?

It should release very easily as soon as it detects you are trying to move. If it's not then you've got a fault and you need VW to have a look at it.

i think your auto brake has a fault,it's as if it isn't getting a signal to release when the accelerator is pressed.

It happened to me last monday after not moving the car the entire weekend. It took some effort to release. Assumed it was due to the cold weather over weekend. If it happens while driving I guess you've got a fault.

Sure you're pushing the throttle?
If you only just about touch it it won't release the brake, even slam them on harder.

Yeh after reading the handbook, think thats where i went wrong. Been out to the car and had a bit shot and all seems well.
