edition 35 remap
« on: 23 January 2016, 13:18 »
Hi
I want to remap my ed35 I'm unsure which company to use. Apr/revo/dna/shark are they basically all the same thing don't by different people?
I would like a remap specific to my car not one emailed from one company to another.
Any advice appreciated I'm in Wiltshire but will travel.
Thank you
Paul

I have thought about amd as they do claim good gains but I just want  generic map. I have never used than so unsure what there process is.
I'm looking for a bespoke remap that made for my car not every golf edition 35.
I've spoke to shark today they have offered me a cracking deal 450 for remap on both dsg and engine.  So very tempted.

Hi Paul. Good decision on getting the ED35 remapped, will be a weapon when done I am sure

I'm slightly confused why you don't want a generic map though? Generic maps from Revo / APR etc have the benefit of plenty of testing, research and money thrown at them to ensure they don't make everyone's engine immediately go pop.

Unless you have a specific driving style in mind, or plan on incorporating ancillary components (water / meth inj etc) into the tune, then it seems more hassle to me? Specific maps are better I would imagine, but you need to find a tuner you trust and there is always the chance of Gremlins

Just my 2p mate, not havng a dig or owt

450 for a dsg and ecu remap thats too good to be true
:0 normally dsg is £300 and a map is £500+

hey,
when it gets round to me to getting my ed35 mapped,  i would only use r-Tech - excellent customer service and pretty good prices too.

R-Tech are remapping the CDL engines and have been for a while and tend to specialise in these when the other players have moved on to new things

The big players have done these with no issues and R-Tech has its fan base and great reputation

Unfortunately I've never had a R-Tech map as by the time they get round to developing it the car is long gone

Mapped my Ed35 after 1,000 miles and did 20k with no issues on Revo Stage 2, really nice and usable, Stage 2+ never floated my boat

I actually liked it best Stage 1 with suspension, arbs and brakes was a lovely car in which you could hear yourself think

Hi thanks for info so far.
Reason I want a custom map is, I worked at Honda for 12 years and although a batch of cars were identical in engine and spec, some definitely felt faster than others, my point being every car is different.
I do like the idea if a big company who has put lots of money onto research but not all engines are the same.
As for the remap and dsg I spoke to shark and that's what they told me with 25% off till end of Jan.  Even said they would rolling road it for free! It's a 3.5 hour drive each way.
