My GTi is in for a service at JCB Medway today, they have a 3 door Oryx white, Clubsport, buckets, 18" wheels and DSG in the showroom..... I really must resist temptation and not talk to any sales people when I go to collect my own car later on!

With your username surely you should be speaking to them when you go to see them

Sadly not, I have had this username since the '90's based on serial Porsche CS ownership, I do like the Golf CS, but at more than double the price of rarely used GTi PP, I don't think I will be taking the plunge... just yet!

That's irritating when I've had to cancel mine because it's been delayed so long

vipergts, by the time I got to the showroom to collect my car there were no sales people around.

I have no idea if it is list price or dreaded overs, it looked really good, I prefer a manual myself though.

I know the owner of JCB, maybe I should have ordered there

For those who have got a Clubsport or anyone in the know, what is the insurance group ?  I think the Gti PP is about 29 isn't it and the R about 30 ?

So having been deadset on getting a Clubsport, then being put off by the price, I finally requested a finance quote via a broker and was told that the orders books are closed as of last Wednesday, but there are a number of cars in the pipeline that are spec confirmed but awaiting allocation to an owner.

So waiting to see what's in progress - I suspect they'll have every option under the sun to clear out the store room which will price them too dearly. Could turn out interesting...

The dealer is happy to honour the broker's discount on any car in the system which was circa 11%.

Yep might get a bargin then.

As for insurance, for some reason the Clubsport was £13 less than the PP GTi, when we changed the vehicle details on our policy which was renewed in July.

I wonder whether there are enough in the pipeline to reach the 1,000 units that they said would be the maximum imported?  Hopefully there won't be more than the max number (as per Ed30s), even better, there might be less?  Now that the order book has closed, I wonder if Lee (evo1986) would be able to find out how many in total will be coming to the UK (and maybe the colour split)?

My quote was onl £60 more than my old car which I was very surprised at.

Anybody going to fit a tracker? I suspect these will unfortunately have a high degree of stealibilty!

Hoping to pick mine up end of this week or certainly next week. 😃
