I noticed in the CS brochure it is 98 RON fuel minimum ?  Is that 100% ?

You can put 95 in it but it would be a false economy, losing power and fuel economy - thr 300ps R drops to 285ps on standard unleaded. Hard to find 98 amywhere, it is all 97 (BP, Esso, Sainsburys) or 99 (Tesco Momentum or Shell V Power). I go with the Tescos as it is as good as Shell and 10p/L cheaper locally.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

So here are some pics:

No comments please about the headlights... I am very upset that I don't have the Xenon lights. I was not aware about them at the moment of entry, I didn't know the difference was so significant and that the red line is only on the Xenon's. My dealer didn't inform me. Now it seems that in Belgium, the Xenon's are standard on the GTI but not on the GTI Clubsport...

I am now checking if I the Xenons can still be installed. If somebody has experience, please let me know...

Absolutely gorgeous, but... oh my god, I can not believe they spec them without xenons in some countries. Wrong wrong wrong!

Retro-fitting xenons is neither trivial nor cheap I'm afraid.

Quiet like the look of the red stripe not extending over the lights, I see no reason why you cannot have the xenons fitted although I reckon it will cost a bit. Noticed you went for the leather seats instead of the standard ones and the buckets, any reason why you went with leather?

It'd cost a fortune to do it properly and no dealer will entertain the idea...

Joe,

Remember Zenons only become standard in Ireland for the 142 ( 2nd half 2014 ) plate over here.

It wouldnt surprise me if they remove them as standard for the upcoming facelift model but hopefully VWI have turned a corner and will continue the decent spec of MK7 as standard.....?

Douglas lad, congrats on the CS, were Zenons and Brescias standard on the Irish CS or did you need to add as part of the '162' campaign?

I remember that well Fabio! Sure I paid €1500 (?) to spec them on my GTI  I don't think VW here will go back to that though. Their entire range here now is pretty well kitted as standard including the new Tiguan.

It was a hard choice but the 3 reasons I went for leather:

- I like the leather seats a lot, no difficult choice over the standard
- At time of order, no car with bucket seats was available for testing, I was not sure if it was comfortable for long trips (hard? no arm rest...)
- I am quite tall and was not sure the buckets would provide enough/safe headrest

Still I recon that a CS should have buckets seats... I am also checking if I can retrofit them. If it is possible and affordable, I will try them first. If I decide to replace them, I would put the leather seats in my other Golf Mk 7 (1.6 TDI) to improve that car a bit... (standard seats in a 1.6 TDI look and feel really cheap)

For the buckets I'd say forget it (unfortunately). They are only sold in (expensive) pieces, so apart from the high cost there is some serious assembly that needs to be done to get them in the car. I had seen some links in other forums and it was basically a "forget it" thing unless prepared to splash the cash.

For the headlights there are some aftermarket options for the GTI (with the red stripe) that are an improvement over the stock halogens, link here: https://deutscheautoparts.com/mk7-gti-helix-led-headlights-with-red-stripe.html

They also got both led U's illuminating (like in the R). Probably not OEM Bi-Xenon lighting levels but most people seem to be pretty happy with them in forums.
