The Drive the Deal prices on the R are hard to ignore. Almost £6k off, then VW loyalty discount of £500 on top.

They don't do part ex do they

I was told that they would match the best offer we got from Carcow and DTD and that they would take the wife's Mk6 GTI as a trade against the max deposit(plus money back to us) on on either an R or Clubsport. Have you asked Matthew about trading your car in.

Yes but he is still away and they will need me to take in which is no issue

He is in work today. He has 4 hand overs tomorrow though so he is busy.

Are you Matthew in disguise?

Specced an R on DTD. Offering 15.99% off list not including the 500 quid contribution.

Capri - that contact would be great.

I wish, I wouldn't mind a job selling cars although granted maybe not at the likes of a Citroen dealers. The reason I knew he was back was because I sent him an email the day he left about the cancellation of my order and he got back to me yesterday. In the end it was too late to cancel but I still don't have to take the car.

It all comes down to how my wife is. She had an operation a few weeks ago on her back and is now getting physiotheraphy on it. Not sure how she got so badly hurt in the accident when I got off with just a bit of back and neck pain, two broken toes and a cut on my leg.

Sad to hear that mate.

My Mrs suffered from torn disc and sciatica after our accident in apr 2010 but it wasn't until late 2010/2011 that the prob started but the private specialist that we saw is insistent that it was a late reaction.

It's not nice to see he struggling but just lives with the pain when it comes up again and has physio. Grateful an operation was required. I really wouldn't want her to have her back operated on its such a delicate area.

Good luck to your Mrs hope all turns out well.

The bit she complained most about was not being able to get her roots done at the hairdressers. She goes every 3 weeks and finally her neck had improved enough the other day to get it done but she was due to be getting it done the day after the accident so as she said the need outweighed the pain.

I assume that the only reason to buy a Clubsport is the look?

As its not as fast as an R? Or am I missing something?

Interior finishing, exterior looks, limited edition, bit lighter without the Haldex kit, stronger residuals.

I've got an idea about the "which is faster" argument that involves a GTI PP, Clubsport R, a race track, journalist mate and one of these sunday afternoon drivers off the telly box.

Will start a new thread with the info when Ive made a few calls.
