Engine cover "R" badge is a bit random don't you think?  Would have been nice to open the bonnet to see Clubsport on it, as it appears the car has GTI, Clubsport, TSI and R in various places according to the pics.

Also are these the only seats or are the bucket seats in the early reviews an option?

No one knows what the spec is going to be on the UK ones. The standard GTi in Germany doesn't get half of the kit that the UK cars get.

Agreed the R badge is a bit random.

I've had a deposit down since October.
However im very close to getting it back. There is no way I'm having standard seats in it. Also some say that the uk spec won't have upholder cover, light trims in the doors and seats are going to be an expensive option.

Even at last weeks dealer forum there wasn't any talk of costs or release dates, apart from saying it's going to be a quarter 2 car.

The more I read and the the more pictures I see of it, the less interested I'm becoming. It's not really special enough.

Let's see the costs involved

The front is a bit of a dogs dinner. It's as if they wanted an air-scoop and fins and weren't sure how to go about it.
Maybe in the flesh though its different.

Not exactly an update as first cars have already been delivered to owners in Germany.

I asked at Geneva this weekend but they did not know other countries release date but said theirs was July.
The car looked really nice though I am not sure about the black roof but I am another one getting frustrated with the lack of information.

I was looking forward to swapping my Edition 35 for the Clubsport but I got fed up waiting so accepted a great deal from a dealer on an R last week. No regrets
