DAB info shown on MIB II systems ?

Not that I can do anything about it, just for my own morbid curiosity, but when i got my car back in late 2013, for a short number of weeks after collecting it, certain DAB channels would shown a large logo on screen or even artist / album artwork of the track playing (on the Radio Text and slideshow screens), and it was all dynamic and downloaded automatically. Weirdly it stopped working a few weeks after delivery and has never worked again (go figure).

I'm just curious if this is now working on the new MIB II units (both discover and discover pro unit). i.e. when you click off the radio pre-set screen into either the Radio Text or Slideshow screens, do you get anything other than the same logo in the same small size as you have on the pre-sets screen ?

When you go into the slideshow screen you get an enlarged station logo not the smaller size as on the preset screen.

Radio text just shows the music title /artist in text no artwork

Sorry i meant "Station Info" not "Radio text"

Yes 'Station Info' gives the larger Station icon plus alongside the artist/track being played.

Never bothered to change the view to this on MIB I/II until now, quite neat.

I thought you had to add the icons manually by copying over the image files, didn't realise they had the capability to pull down OTA automatically

I've got a couple of stations like Absolute radio 90's and Radio X that don't have logos.

I can't see a way for the car to force download the icons, it's enabled to automatically do it but nothings come up for those two for some reason.

Can you still add them manually if there is nothing to download?

Honestly I have no idea, I haven't looked into it.

Yes you can still do them manually. Radio station logos only appear of the radio station actually broadcasts them. I've got a few blanks and even wrongly assigned ones on the tiguan mib2 unit.
