Ive installed extra locks on all my doors, house alarm, cctv all that I can think of just to try as much as possible to prevent someone getting in and if that fails I have a 32inch baseball bat and a .22 air pistol next to my bed.

Anyone had a tracker fitted and if so, which one and how good is it?

I've got one fitted to my R, the CobraTrak Plus. It was £250 fitted, and the subscription is £138 a year. I guess you only find out how good they are if your car gets stolen, and I'm hoping that won't happen, but a friend had his BMW M235i taken and it was found hours later parked up on an industrial estate in Manchester.

I'm looking at using the same method that's used to wire the extra supply for the dash cams but instead you can purchase a 12v to 5v usb output and hardwire that into behind the glove box and leave an old iPhone plugged in out of sight and then use find my iPhone. Just as long as it doesn't overheat

Yeah, absolutely fine. I was quite specific about when I needed it fitting, and they were very accommodating. The guy turned up in a brand new Toffee Brown VW Transporter and appeared to have a very professional attitude. As you would expect, there is zero visibility that anything has been done to the car. Activating the subscription with Vodafone Automotive was also very easy.

The only problem with the tracker is the scumbags seem to know where to look for them, this is my car after I got it back.

Sounds good may look into getting one. I just have worries about anything happening to the car and vw wont cover it under warranty as the car has been messed with. I seem to have bad luck in these situations you see lol
