App connect can now be retro fitted

I paid for App Connect and I find it to be completely pointless.
Another case of the 'just because it can be done, doesn't mean you should'.
Exonian is correct, it's just another potential distraction, like a 12'' TV screen on your dash is.
The sooner phones are disabled in cars, the better.
People cannot help themselves and I'm sick of seeing ignorant people looking at their phones on their knees as they are driving

If they disabled phones in cars I would have been out of work years ago. At one time I was taking upwards of 40+ phone calls a day whilst driving(over Bluetooth)

I see people in cars that clearly have Bluetooth and they still holding the phone while talking, why.

Because they're inept at pairing it up, which depending on the phone can be difficult to get a connection but it's certainly no excuse for what is sheer laziness.

For some it may be because they have 2 phones (one personal, one works) and only one is connected to Bluetooth.

If one of my mobiles rings while not on Bluetooth I just ignore it and ring back later.

There is modern cars that you can't connect 2 phones through Bluetooth?

And my modern-ish (10 plate) Focus.

You could pair about 6 or 7 phones but only 1 would be operable via the Bluetooth at any one time.

I could use two mobiles on Bluetooth on my old RNS510 in my CC's, both for calls but only one for music. If you used a Windows phone it would also read out your texts and let you reply by dictation. You did have to change the operation of the microphone button from mute to speech.

I see people who are clearly using apps like Facebook when they are driving.
It's one of the advantages of being in a van, you can see all dickheads at play on their way to work.

After some time waiting they have now come up with a solution for app connect to be retro fitted.

The total cost including vat and fitting is £213.40

 

Any way we can make this work on a 2013 model?  I'd consider hardware upgrades...
