new gti discounts ?
« on: 09 January 2016, 19:41 »
Hi All, been to VW today to purchase new GTI (5door DSG no extras) they offered me £2250 off the car in total (£1000 - VW loyalty & £1,250 VW contribution). Does this sound reasonable or should I  looking for a better deal. It would be good to know what deals you guys got.

That is a terrible deal. Those 2 items for a total £2250 off should be in addition to a proper discount off the RRP. You should be aiming for upwards of £2500 in addition to your £2250 incentives (depends on the garage), maybe as much as £3600 if they get close to a broker's level of discount. Don't get shafted on your p/x either (I assume you have something to chop in that's a VW as you're getting the loyalty discount).

I'm sure Evo1987 on here could offer you a far better deal than you're currently getting.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

I ordered a GTD last weekend and got around £3200 on top of the loyalty and contribution via Carwow, could have got more via DTD but the Carwow dealer was relatively local. Get some broker quotes and shop around.

This afternoon I ordered a GTD with Parking & Tech packs in Reflex silver using DTD as a cost comparison and got it for £23,500 with three (2x Minor 1xMajor) services included. This is on PCP.

I know its not a GTI but you can get a deal, in my case i think they just wanted to get shot of me :)

I'm in the process of trying to buy a brand new GTD, I've used DTD, Carwow and Orangewheels to get some prices and I've been into a dealer to have a chat about a price for my part ex, a 2008 BMW 330i convertible and they had the cheek to offer me £6k, that's not even a competitive part ex offer. So I'm selling privately instead.

The brokers were offering about 9.5% to 10% off the rrp price so it seems you have a lot of room left to negotiate yet.

I have been looking into a deal for an R to replace my wife's Mk6 GTi and the the best price we got was £33,673 and that was for an oryx white 5 door DSG with £5230 worth of extras. That is without the VW £1000 loyalty discount.

After talking to our dealer later this afternoon we have decided to go for a GTi Clubsport instead.

For the deal the OP has been offered, seems a bit lacking.
