Mk7 GTD - Thoughts?
« on: 05 January 2016, 14:54 »
Hi all,

This is my first post on a Golf forum, as I am in need of both your help and your opinion.

I am looking to buy a VW Golf GTD, Mk7. The one I am looking at is here:-

http://www.amanahprestige.com/vw-golf-gtd-dsg-in-essex-5297183

I'd like to know what your thoughts are on the car overall, the Santiago alloys (as I've heard these are prone to buckling) and if there are any other vital considerations I should look out for. Is the Price right for that car & mileage? To me it looks about right, but then again my eye is untrained.

I'm new to the Mk7 World, so therefore any help from existing owners would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys.

Plenty of these for sale right now so you will have plenty of choice although that car looks clean with some extras on it  but I'm sure you will get loads of feedback on here

Looks very nice. It's certainly the right colour as far as I'm concerned.
It seems to be very well speced and it appears to have pro nav system.
Keyless entry too.
It would be nicer if you could get it even cheaper though

WOW, fast replies - thanks both.

At the risk of sounding annoying, what is the Pro Nav system and how can one tell if it has it?

I'd love to get it cheaper. I'm going to see it this weekend with the Mrs. Provided we both like it, I'll try and negotiate a better price and strike a deal.

Colour does look sweet, that was the first thing that drew me in to the advert.

You can see NavPro in the photos...

I'd thoroughly validate everything the dealer says about it though - for example he doesn't mention NavPro, yet its in the photo. He mentions all sorts of other costed extras, are they actually there?

The headline says 2 owners, but later it says 1.

If what is written about the spec, the one owner, the mileage is all true, then this is quite a bargain IMHO... but CHECK.

It really is important to validate all the dealers claims and I'm sure you don't need anyone telling you this.
It does seem a lot of car for the money.
I've ordered my GTI in the same colour so I'm very biased

Thanks all.

From the advert, the ACTUAL optional extras I can see are -
Sat Nav
Rear Camera
Leather
Dyna Audio
Heated Seats

Is there anything else which is an EXTRA?

Sometimes, a lot of independent dealers like to list stuff which is standard, to inflate the actual car on the advert. I'm trying to distinguish from the advert what in fact is standard, versus what was optional.

Please let me know if I've missed anything.

Keyless too. Was keyless standard on the 14 plates. For me it's one of the best options but that's cos I'm a lazy bas****

LOL!! Thanks :-)

Keyless is now added to the 'actual' extras list. Glad it's on there, everyone seems to be very positive about that particular option.
