Mk 7 Tyres
« on: 04 January 2016, 14:48 »
I am new here so apologies if this has been dealt with a million times.

Tyres - My Mk7 PP is now 7 months old with 225/35 R19 Pirelli P Zeros from factory. 14,000 miles - fronts now need changing. Still 4.5mm on rears.

Questions...

Is this normal mileage?
Stick with P Zeros for replacements?
I have a quote for P Zero Silver at £135 each - is that good?
What is the difference between P Zero and P Zero Silver?

Thanks in advance

Suggest you read this article before buying. Tyre test uses a GTI but only18" rims: http://www.evo.co.uk/features/16545/best-tyres-evo-tyre-test-2015

14k miles is not bad for fronts.
Mk6 GTI Carbon Grey, 2010 Bluetooth and voice fitted, a few VCDS mods still a comfortable family car. Red Scirocco 2011 twin charger stage 1 - enjoyable drive now gone.  White 2016 Polo GTI (roller skate on steroids) replaced with an Indium Grey 2019 7.5 GTI PP.

14k is good going for 7 months! My 6 month old GTD is on 12k and I'm starting to think about tyre replacement but it only has 18s.

All P Zero'd up now - apparently, the Silvers are better than the standard P Zero's - not sure if I like the labeling bling though? A bit F1...........what do you think?

Press blurb says this : http://www.pirelli.com/tyre/gb/en/news/2012/02/07/pirelli-launches-the-p-zero-silver-the-first-road-car-tyre-derived-directly-from-formula-one/#

Looks odd to me - should have something to balance the look on the opposite side of the tyre
