I need of some serious help
« on: 01 January 2016, 12:44 »
This is a long one so bare with me...
Im the new owner of a mk3 golf gti that was left to me by my lovely ex( @$$ h $#@) the car is currently not working due to him arsing about with it thinking he was a top class mechanic (mean while he takes the working vehicle) and I'm left with this lovely bit off red metal and as you have probably guessed by now I'm a women and aint got a clue about cars the horrible t@#t has left me with 3 wheels the spare is there but no wheel nuts so here goes with what I knows wrong.
Had a new engine fitted a few month back and ran like crap. When the car had been ran and turned off wouldnt start unless bumped this got progressively worse . So top ass mechanic decided to have ago
Cleaned fuel filter pump
Changed dizzy
Changed relays and a few other things
The last thing that was tried was he tested for a spark he got a very weak one aparantly fuel wasnt getting past injectors all this is what I remember him harping on about sooo my question is does anybody think its fixable and if so could you point me in the right direction of a decent mechanic cumbria area or should I send it to scrap yard heaven by the way this was his pride and joy so I'm assuming he thinks ive got no chance of sorting it out and I cant afford to buy anything else at the moment single mom with 4 kids and been left in the s@#t if anyone could kindly help I would be very grateful and yes before anyone asks I'm being deadly serious!

Forgot to mention he changed crank censors and rotor arm and cleaned the throttle body I also missed out when he changed the engine he had one of his mates take out the immobiliser its now a pain to unlock you have to turn the key backwards and forwards it opens then locks you in then you have to put the key in the ignition and manually open the locks for boot and doors to open could this be the real issue someone screwed up the immobiliser???

Welcome  probably best getting a proper mechanic to look at it or sell it as is try get something for it if you need the spare wheel on it now use a wheel nut from the other 3 but I wouldn't drive it like that but it's safer than it being on a stand or jack

Sound like this maybe a bottomless money pit for you! Unless you're 100% into Golfs, I would cut and run before it gets the better of you.
