Mk3 Lowering Advice please!
« on: 31 December 2015, 18:36 »
Hi,

I'm looking to lower my Mk3 GTi 8v Anni about 30mm to give it a better stance and improve the handling a bit.

My question is if lowering springs will work okay with the standard dampers?

Awesome GTI have an Eibach Pro Kit with a 30mm drop which would be perfect.

Has anyone had any experience with this kit, or any lowering springs in general? It'd be great to get some good advice!

Also, my apologies if this has already been covered on the forum.

Thanks very much,

Dave

Lowering springs and standard shocks ride like sh!te.

Get yourself a decent spring and kit shock kit!

Mines lowered using Eibach lowering springs ~30 to 35mm iirc and using Koni top adjustable dampers. I'm happy with it although it's a 16V.

I wouldn't be happy with that body roll.

I'd rather cheap jom coilovers than lowering springs.

All depends on your budget really, I sell Bilstein B4 shockers with Eibach springs and they ride brilliant (they were developed together)

Yeah you need to match damping to spring rates.
