standard pre 90 and mk3 recaro seat hight diffrence

Hi could any one help me out with a bit of info ? I have a pre 90 spec golf gti 1989 model,i also have a full recaro color concept red and black interior from a mk3 golf to go into her but my concern is that when i sit in the car just now i am way to high and it feels horrible as i like my seats sitting low, so i am hoping that the mk3 recaro's  sit lower !  can anyone confirm if they will sit lower or not for piece of mind thanks. I would just go rip old seat out and fit new one but i have just resprayed the car a few days ago and have alot of work still to do before i go onto interior

You cant just pop in the new seats as the underside is different. You'll need to mod the mk3 seats to fit the mk2 runners. Also you'll need to mod the rear bench fixings slightly too. Plenty of 'how to' guides to do this on the web. Regarding seating height I'm pretty sure the seats are just the same, barr the mk3's will no doubt look better. You probably could mod them to sit lower, but will be more hassle than its worth.
