That is bad.  I dont see how they can keep the ?350 though.  I know they make you pay about a third of the premium up front, but surely they should refund most of that as youve only been insured one month.  Get on the phone and speak to a manager or something.

hmmm maybe this is why they always seem to offer the lowest premiums

ah man thats just crap of them. doesnt help now, but it works out cheaper to pay the whole lot with a good credit card.

The interest the insurers charge is ridiculous.

You probably got stung because of some small print about monthly instalments.

FYI - I just got a great quote for my mk3 16V, ?350 comp with second driver & no claims protection. I'm 30 with lots of no claims.

Hope it helps someone out there  :)

Have been getting quotes over ?600 with others.

I had a MkII Driver insured with HIC years ago, when some sh!tebag nicked the alloys it took me 9 weeks to get it sorted by which time HIC denied all knowledge of me having alloys so my excess went up to ?600. They decided to write it off then changed their mind and basically messed me around as much as they possibly could, I ended up cancelling the claim and paying out of my own pocket to get my car back on the road.
The people who nicked my wheels were extremely professional, if only HIC were the same. Wouldnt touch them with a 10ft pole
I voted for Pedro

My bro in law is a drag racer who is mates with Brian Burrows (organizer of most Santa Pod/Avon Park) VW events- and Brian has banned HIC from all his VW events (coz they are skankers!!)

Should have asked around first - and not trusted their poxy adverts on EVERY VW magazine back page!!!!

Here's a good thing...

I think the best thing i have to say about them, is that I'm not with them :)
Used to have a '97 MK3 16v GTI 3dr in 'Black Magic'... now have a '55 Civic Type-S...
