Rare colour & spec...
« on: 19 December 2015, 21:21 »
While we are looking at current cars for sale and value, what are the thoughts on this one?

Seems well cared for, despite higher mileage for year.

Is it really high mileage for the year? It's getting on for 2 years with 21k. It's got some nice bits on it but is missing the winter pack which I would class as essential but I can understand why others wouldn't.

Stunning colour though!

I agree winter pack is a very desirable addition to spec. The problem is, looking at cars from before mid 2015 before the spec update is a bit like looking for "the one". Then again I believe discover nav and winter pack are still options on a new Golf R ?

For me as nice as it is performance pack> winter pack.

I quite like the fact the car has been privately owned by someone who knows about the car, rather than a car handed back after a lease deal.

Any thoughts on price? Does the lack of winter pack make it a deal breaker? Is Dynaudio a benefit and reliable?

Cheers.

No idea why you are all getting excited about the winter pack, but there you go.

This is a pretty bog standard example of a GTI PP to me. It has two optional extras (well three if you count the metallic paint).

26 months old with 21k, makes that technically just below average mileage.

I'm sure the bloke loved it and cared for it.

18k? So about 5k a year for depreciation, you can see why people choose golfs for high residuals.

I was actually quite impressed with Tungsten Silver in the metal.

I was going to buy a new car, but lack of interest from VW salesmen and a pre Christmas deal, meant I drove this one 300 miles home today.

With 95% of the journey being motorway, I used the ACC and the +/- minus buttons, I hardly touched the accelerator pedal at all... "Is this the way they say the futures meant to feel?" :)
