Well said!
Well Said x 2
Certainly something I have awareness of in needing to keep a balance and also became strong enough to resist the always connected work culture alluded to and remain as efficient if not more so than those who check everything 24/7 and that's simply by having proper time to refresh each and every day.
One of the things do regularly is just turn off Outlook for an hour or so through each working day and concentrate on tasks need to complete.
If anything was really urgent then expect someone to go back to the old days and phone me!
Its time proven now that nothings ever really that urgent that a few hours ever changes
Tend to use IT for the light and entertaining out of work and maybe to make life easier by using mobile banking and ordering the shopping
Do not be slave to the technology be its master and you then have a nice complement to modern life.
Wise words.
I handed my work smart phone back a year ago. The longest I'm away from the office is 2 days at the weekends (if I'm not working any) and if it can't wait till my return then, tough! And if I'm on holiday the last thing I want to see is any work emails. As soon as you look at your work email on a phone that's it, you start working!!!
Work Outlook email is one of the most stressful things in my life. It's a constant battle to keep it under control and to a workable level. What doesn't help is getting a "your mailbox is nearly full" email message every several times a day. That hardly helps the situation. I am fortunate that my time is split between on site and office based, but on the days I am office bound, I now make myself leave the office for a half hour, usually go for a drive, just to get some time away from the computer.
And just because your phone rings or pings, doesn't mean you have to stop whatever you are doing to respond. Nobody has to be available 24hrs a day!
I too use most of my tech for leisure, buy virtually everything online and of course...forums.
Sorry, back to CarPlay topic.....
