My Mk 7 GTD came with four factory Bridgestones (as the majority do) and they were terrible - truly terrible - unless the weather was 25 deg c plus and bone dry. I swapped all four early for a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 3's - I don't regret taking the partial cash hit one bit - imho there is no point spending nearly £24k on a car only for driving it to be effectively ruined by the only four bits that are actually in contact with the road, every time the temp outside is lower than the South of France or there is a hint of moisture in the air (ie for the vast majority of the time in the UK). Ultimate verdict (for me) is that I no-longer 'think' about the tyres - they just quietly do an excellent job in just about all conditions - best hard earned I've spent in a long time. To add insult to injury, the hard compound of the Bridgestones makes them last for ages - just bite the bullet and get shot of them, you won't regret it.
