Help finding family's GTi
« on: 27 November 2015, 09:59 »
Hello all.

I'd really like to track down a Tornado Red, eight-valve Golf GTi (Mk2) that was once my dad's company car before he bought it outright and then sold it to his dad (my grandad). The numberplate is H113 PWJ and my grandad let the car go for just £1,000 in around 2006 with roughly 70,000 miles on the clock.

The car had telephone dial wheels and was based in St Helens, Merseyside. It was truly pampered throughout its time with my family and I'm really hoping it still lives! I've got great memories of travelling to Blackpool in the car when I was little, and also of learning how to change gear with my grandad operating the clutch.

Many thanks in advance.

You can find out if its got an mot on the dvla website. I have been searching for my dad and grandads capri green mk2 since 2007 but still no luck.
Dvla wouldn't give me much info on its whereabouts when I sent a v888 in (I even sent photos and details of the cars history)
Suffering from a severe and unforgiving case of GTItis

Turns out the numberplate was different – it was H113 PWJ (blame my dad for that error). According to the DVLA, the MOT expired on February 17 2009, and the tax ran out on August 1 2013...
