Guys, if you finance by PCP to get the 3 yrs free servicing how quickly can you pay it off and any idea if any early repayment fees as think may do it to get stuff if I get the R.

Pay it within the 14 days cooling off period to get any financial incentives. If if you take longer than that then you'll have 2 months penalty interest to pay.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Is this really 100% true?

And you only pay the days percentage you have had the agreement? No additional early admin fees etc?

If so, will try this route on the Clubsport with a few dealers as they often give better PCP deals than cash.

It is true. It's your legal right apparently, according to my dealer.
You can apply for pcp, cancel it and then pay cash if you want.

I picked up my GTi only three weeks ago and was told when negotiating my PCP deal exactly that by the salesman at the main dealer. I think his quote was something like "I couldn't advise you to do that, but there is nothing to stop you doing it". If it is paid in full within the cooling off period no additional charges are made other than the incurred interest, in other words pennies and you keep the PCP deposit allowance from VW. Didn't actually do it though, I just wanted to make sure the option was there.

And the incentives would be worh it I guess, as most PCP deals seem to get better discount.

Assumming you can stump up the deposit required and then sell your current car privately to settle the finance within the first few days.

Certainly on the GTi as VW offer a £1250 deposit contribution if taking PCP. I don't think you get the same contribution for GTD or the R though. So to be honest even if looking at paying cash or personal finance, its an option to take the PCP to get the initial discount then settle the VW finance. And when they do the 3 years free servicing offer on PCP's you get to keep that as well I believe from my salesman

Bloody typical just been to see the Golf R on the way back from the station tonight and no wonder it's up for £27300 and they offered a good part ex for my GTI PP.....

The golf r looks pretty rough quite a few marks on it and the overall car looks likes it's been polished with sand paper, like a light swirly scratches all over the body work - not good.

Anyway least I didn't waste my Saturday morning with the stealer, sent him a rather abrupt email a few minutes ago.....
