Vidman, interesting to hear your views, I havent got DCC on my R but I had it on my GTI. It was a nice thing to have but i find the standard R suspension fine and not too firm. For me it feels about the same as "normal" in my GTI.
I also find the throttle response in my R to be pretty good (its a manual), certainly way better than my GTI.
cheers.

I would disagree, I would say when it's dry and your rolling it's 95% match, but in England where it rains 290days a year

Think the stats say 156 days ;)

Fair enough, I was just exaggerating. It still means that the GTI is at a massive disadvantage for 43% of the time. So 95% of the 57% in the rain it would closer to 60% of the performance.

A good example of this would be the 370z up my ass the other there day in the rain. We came up to a roundabout and both floored it, by the time I had hit 80mph, there was an easy 10pength between us. The 370z has the same power, but RWD. You drop 70-80bhp on the 370z to make the GTI and it would be an R just driving away.

I have owned both (28k on mk7 GTI) so I'm not just GTI bashing.

Thanks for the advice guys. Offered £23300 for my GTI PP having paid £27500 a few months ago. Great drive from the station home in it tonight on a B road and have decided to keep it for time being and look at an R after a year or so and enjoy the GTI for what it is, a great car.

Thanks again all

That is a great offer for your car... Last week Sincalir cardiff had a new, 65 plate, limestone 3 door PP Gti (latest spec) for £23750, before the deposit contribution and £1000 loyalty bonus... I just couldn't buy one n that colour!

That's definitely not a colour I would have unless it was ridiculously cheap, looks like the "greige" shade of hearing aids most of the time. The best pictures taken of Limestone Grey are when it doesn't look like Limestone Grey at all, but some kind of Mercury Silver shade.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Guys, if you finance by PCP to get the 3 yrs free servicing how quickly can you pay it off and any idea if any early repayment fees as think may do it to get stuff if I get the R.
