I’m new to the forum, but over the years I have had many VWs, including low mileage Mk2, Mk4 and Corrados. This is my first ever new car though. I ordered it in mid-June via Drivethedeal.com and JCB VW Medway. James there was great and I picked up my GTI in early September. I specifically asked for it not to be prepared so that I could detail and protect it myself.
Prior to ordering I had looked at all sorts, including the Mk7 R, A5, A3 and Cupra, but I kept coming back to the GTI. Of all the cars I have owned over the years the GTI in its various marks is the most complete. I went for 3dr DSG Performance Pack (just like the look!), 19" Santiago Alloys (which came with Pirellis), Pro Navigation and Dynaudio, Keyless, Winter Pack, DCC, Rear Camera and Park Assist. The hardest thing to pick was the colour, I really wanted the lighter blue that was in the launch photos but had to settle for Night Blue. As much as anything it’s the rarity factor that I like, I just haven't seen another 3dr with 19" in Night Blue. I love the colour but it lasts about 5 minutes in the wet before looking dirty!

Overall I love it, really is a great car. I will maybe think about an increase in BHP at some point, possibly after the first year or so, but I will do a bit of research first. Hope you enjoy the pics!
