MKVII GTD Purchase

I'm sure the majority of people who get a quote from a broker will buy through  the broker.
I've recently bought my son a fiesta through DtD.
Unfortunately I had to travel to north Wales to pick it up due to various circumstances and although I enjoyed the drive home, I could have done without taking over 3 hours out of my schedule.
I'm also one of those people who prefer to have a Manchester prefix on their number plate ( strange I know ) and DtD won't guarantee your car will come from localish dealer.
Either way, I just want the cheapest and most convenient way of buying a car and shopping around is all part of that process.

I sure did; the local dealer I bought from was one of those who quoted through Carwow. I think it was the £20 Amazon voucher that swung it in the end though

The local dealer I ordered from quoted on carwow but matched the DtD price when I rang up and spoke to them.
Another local dealer who quoted on carwow wouldn't match it.

Sounds very much like my experiences. To be fair would have been more than happy to use DtD, but wanted another test drive and the car wow dealer seemed ideal and local, when he matched and then bettered the DtD price on a car he had on order I was more than happy to use him to top it off he was a top bloke. Actually went into another more local dealer first to get a drive in a second hander they hand on show and the salesman there was an arse, my wife actually used the phrase "even if it costs more don't give any commission to him". So the salesman has a massive part to play, not just on price but on the experience as well. It's a buyers market in some way, so use it and get a deal you are happy with at a local dealer or through a broker.

Finally got the car sorted out. Picking it up next Saturday.

I bought an ex-stock GTD with 6 miles on the clock.

Salesman was entirely incompetent and didn't know how to sell or what the car had as spec.

I compromised on the spec I wanted - lost DCC, 90% rear tints, deep black instead of carbon grey and have a sun roof and winter pack. I can see me playing the game of turning up the heat in the passenger seat to annoy my wife with that but some heated washer jets on top of it is neither here nor there. Never owned a car with a sun roof and never cared to spec it but it might be pleasant in summer on occasion. Ended up with £5k off list in the end and have not had to wait an eternity for the car.

Dealer didn't expect me to buy a car there and then and was cautious about taking me out for too long a test drive as the car was new.
