MKVII GTD Purchase
« on: 12 November 2015, 22:02 »
Hi Folks

It's been a while since I've been on the forum, I had a MKVI GTI and I'm now looking at a GTD as a car to get me between my crash pad in London for the week and home in Suffolk - 85 mile return trip.

I'm looking at a GTD with DSG and a few extras - this is my spec: vw.co.uk/s/seay. I know that a 10% discount is available to forum members but I was wondering what sort of prices and finance deals people were getting. I'll probably finance the purchase with a maximum deposit  and do a PX on the Tiguan I have at the moment.

Would appreciate any comments or insights on must haves for spec as well.

Thanks in advance for your help (DM me if you'd prefer)

Alex

I will second that - you should be offered around 12% off with DdtD.

Agree drive the deal are the cheapest of the brokers at present. Don't discount local dealers though, I stuck a spec on car wow and waited for bites. Then arranged a test drive with a local dealer whose price was close to DtD's, did some haggling and they beat the DtD price on a pre ordered car. Picking it up today to!

Carwow was my starting point, but negotiated a bit more off as well with one of the local dealerships. I had a part-ex, and I don't think DtD take part-exchange as part of their deal.

My local dealer matched dtd exactly and offered a full tank of fuel to buy from them.
I saved £3787.00 of list price. About 12.5 % ish.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I am on a 16% discount at the moment off list and now need to agree a future trade in value on the other car.

There seems to be a £1,000 floating discount available if you provide evidence of your 'loyalty' to the brand which is more dieselgate reassurance than anything to do with loyalty in my view.
