5 Days? Stingy b@st@rds. When I bought mine more than a year ago they used to give 1 week.

Dealer provided insurance always makes me laugh. Always ridiculously high, and usually with a ridiculous excess as an added bonus!

A lot of people don't shop around for insurance and perceive 'VW Insurance' as being premium so they go for it. And they only need half the number of customers as other companies - as they charge double!

They were wanting £750 for my GTD and over £1000 with my daughter on it

Direct Line are £155 for me and £235 with my daughter on it.

Needless to say it wasn't a hard decision

They rang me and said £650, I laughed and said no thank you I will sort my own out. The reply I got was, do you want me to speak to my supervisor to see if I can get a better deal."

He wasn't to happy when I told him I expected him to give me his best deal before giving me an obscene price to test his luck. I wonder how many gullible people fall for it and just pay the full premium.
