are the windscreen washers heated? are the wing mirrors heated if so what turns them on/off???

Depends on your spec.
Heated washer jets.... open the bonnet and see if you have 2 wires go to each.
Heated mirrors.... turn on rear window heater and feel if the mirrors get warm (or unclip and see if two wires are connected to it).

the windscreen washer heaters are permanently on if they are fitted to your car.
