Just wanted to know what cars you guys have had a run with your gti's...amd what was the outcome? and if you had any mods what were they? just wanted to know how quick these gti's actually are? and does dsg really have that much of an advantage as i think it does? the gti is so smooth sometimes you dont realise the speed your doing till you either look in your rear view or see your speedo..its crazy.. Reason i ask is because somebody at work claims he would outrun me in a f10 520d m sport...which i obviously highly doubt 
Ha ha guys with BMWs are deluded. They are about 8-9 seconds to 60 i think. If it was a a 530d or 535d if would be different.
Having a stage 2 GTI there is only a handful of cars that keep up (other than highly tuned or £35k+ cars). Best one to beat is an R32, (as long as its not from a dig on damp roads) they always think they will beat me......Nope!!!
The stock GTI can be a big sluggish, but once stage 1 or 2 you will have a bunch more horses and torque.
