Gearbox swap
« on: 04 November 2015, 21:51 »
My Diff has decided to sh!t itself   and it has dropped some of the oil and making a noise so im looking at either selling it as a none runner or getting a replacement box. My question is how big job is it and how much would i expect to pay for the fitting? and would the clutch be ok? it hasnt been in the car long either. would the diff cause the engine to sound like a sewing machine??
Im thinking just sell it as it is as I cant be without a car

Thanks guys

Yeah that would help wouldn't it! Doh it's a 2001 1.8t gti. I'm not sure wether to get a second hand gearbox and get it put in or sell it as is. Anybody got an idea on price for fitting of the box? I haven't really got the time to do a big job like this. Shame really cos it's not a bad car and would it sell as it is or would I be better breaking it? It's nice cond and got leather recaros, lowered and rust free front wings so a few good bits that should sell quick.
