I would be extremely annoyed if they reduced the spec on a car that I had ordered.
I've just had a poke around on the configurator and seen this
"Style Package
Door sill trim: the high-quality stainless steel sill protectors with Golf lettering do not just protect the heavily used entrance area but are also a real eye-catcher. Tail silencer trim, twin pipe, chrome: The tail silencer trim brings an additional shot of powerful good looks to the Golf. The inclined design, combined with the hint of top-quality, turns it into a true highlight. Chrome rear strip: The attractive chrome-look protective strip is not only an eye-catcher, it also effectively protects the edge of the rear lid at the same time."
I'm not into the chrome rear strip but the sill protectors sounds good. I might see if I can find out what these are and if I can get them retrofitted to mine.
26 October 2015
Effective immediately on any three-door models built from week 45
VW1301-15
Keyless entry is no longer an option on all three-door Golf models built from week 45 onwards (starting 2 November).
This includes the GTD and GTI trims, where it is standard. There will be no change to the availability of keyless entry for five-door Golfs.
The Volkswagen website, the showroom configurator and SLi have been updated and will show this change from today (Wednesday 21 October). The price list and brochure will be updated as soon as possible.
For future orders, we will reduce on the road (OTR) price by £365 (the consumer price of Keyless entry) for three-door GTD and GTI models.
Keyless entry vehicles in pipeline
There are around 600 vehicles on order that have been impacted by this change.
The Customer Services Centre (CSC) will be in contact to discuss these customer-tagged cars and the next steps to take.
For orders already placed the car will re-consign at the lower value of the current OTR less £365 including VAT.
