i've got aa 1.8tt agu and i can't get it in 5 fifth gear it goes in all the rest OK
Any help is good
My car bolf got 267bhp in my agu with a k04 convertion   piper x cold air induction kit, r-tech custom remap, custom down pipe and sports cat, milltek exhaust system, 4bar fpr, injectors off a ford f150 lightning pick

Adjustment out or gear selector worn would be my first guesses.

When I got the car it sometimes would go in 3rd when trying for fifth so where would it be worn bud

There's a round nylon bush at the base of the gearstick. New one works wonders and easy to fit. Couple of quid from vw.
The shift linkages could be worn at the bushes where they meet the selector arm on top of the gearbox. This is a bit more work but easily done with some time and effort.
Also as mentioned the linkages at the tower could perhaps do with resetting. This is a few minutes work, but well worth trying before you spend any money.
