GTI MK5 front passenger door speakers not working

Hello everyone

I've just bought an '08 GTI MK5 which I'm loving, considering my previous two cars were MK3 Mondeos! I decided it was time for something fun and I haven't regretted it!

Anyway, the car is running nicely but my friend realised there is no sound coming from the passenger door speakers (it's the 3-door car). I used the fader and when you position it in turn to the the four corners, you can hear it working fine in all corners except when you set it to the front left, in which case there is no sound. The central locking works fine and I can do the passenger door windows using the controls on the driver's door.

I've done some Googling and it sounds like it could be the wiring by the door pillar which gets damaged over time. Not being very good with cars myself, I would like to take it to someone or somewhere that can find whatever the problem is and fix it, I'm based in North London but also spend some time in Ealing from time to time.

Can anyone help me have a look or recommend a place to take it?

Guess it depends on whether a VW or audio specialist is the way to go. A couple to look into:

Thank you! Apparently it could be that all 3 speakers in one door have blown, once it gets fixed on Thursday I will post the solution here.

Had it diagnosed and it was the stock head unit, it wasn't giving output to front left speakers. Replaced with an aftermarket one (Pioneer SPH-DA120 with CarPlay) and it sounds great!
