Factory alarm on GTi
« on: 16 October 2015, 15:33 »
Hey all, just been to sign the finance and have a look at my new car

Now looking to swap over my insurance. Question please - what kind of alarm is the factory fit?

Cheers

Thatcham category 1 if that makes any difference to thieves nowadays.
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.

Cheers mcmaddy. Don't think anything will stop a determined thief. Bar me catching them at it

I was insured with LV prior to getting the GTI - they wouldn't cover me for theft when I changed from Leon FR - don't cover GTIs for theft unless there's a tracker fitted - I used my drive away cover with VW and changed to M&S who had no issues re the tracker or lack of it.

I was impressed and pleased that the Golf only cost £15 more over the whole year that a 4 1/2 year old Leon.

More to do with the new safety features than anything else (adaptive radar and emergency brakes etc)
TCR, Pure Grey, DCC, Dynaudio and Climate Screen.

I had to move from LV because of the tracker issue . Now with Aviva £90 cheaper and no mention of an alarm. LV very good at giving me remaining premium back with no penalty .
