DTUK Pedal Box Settings
« on: 15 October 2015, 18:52 »
I took the plunge and bought one of these. I can say that the throttle response is so much better,( I have a petrol)hardly any lag and the turbo seems to spool up much faster. I have a Revo 2 map and been experimenting with the settings having got it down to 2 i.e Sport -3, and Eco +3. What are others running and their overall experience?

I have one. Think it's brilliant. When I switch it off the car feels so sluggish. I find it hard to convince people it makes a difference, but it does! I usually have mine on sport+ (the red setting). I also have the DTUK box. With both it goes like stink.

On my GTI I ran the box with Sport +2 (I think) but turned it down to be a bit less responsive on the R as I think the factory throttle maps are a bit different between the models and it made the R jerky at very low throttle openings.
Both cars are just used with the car engine setting in Normal

I also ran it with a tuning box on a different GTI for a while and it really brought the tuning box to life at lower RPM's too, although I think the tuning boxes have since been tweaked to be more sensitive. I didn't try it on my own GTI as it didn't get used for long periods of time and I already had battery drain issues which I think were linked to a faulty boot light as I noticed the bulb blew after 12 months which suggests the bulb might have stayed on all the time.

If there was one mod I really would struggle to live without it would be the PedalBox.

Are the pedal boxes really worth getting for the GTI?

After reading this I too took the plunge - definitely more responsive - currently on Sportplus and +2 but will try out more settings. I do think it compliments the tuning box which I'm running map +3 especially it the lower gears where I'm still a little sceptical of the tuning box. 4th and above makes a clear difference but second and to some degree third gear the box is a little disappointing. In second it seems like the timing advance is pulling back. It does not pull consistently in my view. Would be interested to hear anyone else's view.

Interested Tornado in your choice of settings - they seem very different? Did the revolution remap not optimise the throttle response?
