Nightmare week comes to an end like this!!
« on: 11 October 2015, 08:58 »

This is 'luckily' how my week ended! I've had a really one of those weeks, long hrs driving in the lorry, sitting in traffic, early starts-late finishes, daughter in hospital having a CT scan... Bus almost running the wife off the road, causing her to swerve and hit a low wall, popping her tyre, and to top it off, my easy day, of driving to Southampton Docks to deliver 1 pallet of meat for the Ventura Cruise Ship, ended up sitting on dockside for 7hrs as someone decided to jump off the ship into the sea, just off the Isle of Wight, (still don't think they've found him)

So when I finally got back to the yard, I figured, jump in the car, drive home, forget about this week with a few beers and chill out time...

But no..it got worse lol...

Got in the Golf, battery flat, managed to roll it down a hill and attempt to bump start it...didn't work, smoke coming up from under scuttle, jumped out and managed to disconnect the battery (luckily had some tools in the boot)

This is what I'm left with! Something has obviously drained then battery, and as I've got to start it, it caused the surge somewhere...I'm not 100% on how much of the loom is affected yet, and as a result, still unsure if it can be fixed easily, or a replacement loom is the best route...should have some more pics later, so if you have any advice after I've got some I'd appreciate it
