Inner door panel sealing strip
« on: 09 October 2015, 16:45 »
Need some help guys, I need some sealing strip for the back of the inner door panel on my Golf, I've got a wet carpet on the passenger side

Any ideas where to get it from?

I used this, and I'm about to use it again now you've confirmed the plastic clips situation

That looks a lot easier to use than the bathroom sealant tape someone recommended else where -complete pita.
If I get the pleasure of doing it again I will remove the inner panel off the door.

To be fair that stuff's not the easiest to fit. Once the regulator panel touches the door it sticks like a sticky thing and drags it out of the groove, You've got to get it in the right place pretty much first time.
There are some good guides showing this job, but none seem to mention that when putting the panel back on its far easier with the window in the up position then just feed it back down onto the clips. Apologies mind if that what it does say cos I'm terrible for just skim reading stuff

Nah I know exactly where it comes in although that was a favourite to try, I'll be sealing it up at some point too as a preventative measure :afro:
