Car looks great Rebecca and a top notch refurb job by Lessons. Your car looks way better than pretty much all new VW's coming out of the dealer showrooms.

I see that Lepsons no longer offer their free courier service; stopped on the grounds of increased courier costs. They are currently offering a 50% discount off courier charges though.

Cheers SRGTD. It's good to get it sorted and great to have some new rubber.  Had Conti 5Ps for last 5 years so time for a change and it feels a very good one.

Shame about Lepsons dropping their free courier service but at least offering some discount.  Tbh, they are so good if I was further afield I would happily pay the courier charge.  Very fortuitously I live only 30 miles away so a massive bonus!

That certainly does look a top notch job. When I get my Santiagos refurbed, probably next year, I think it'll be worth going to them despite the distance. I was set on getting Pirellis again but your thoughts on th PS4s has got me thinking....

Rebecca, your car looks like it has half a picture of a house painted on it

I'm wondering if I should wait until next year for the PS4 S. Though I'm not sure I could stand the Bridgestone's until then. :undecided:

Thanks Alun.   I'll most likely do a brief end of year 2 review in Oct. The last couple of years in the R have gone too quick!  Still no plans to change for quite a while, it's such a complete car.

Really chuffed with the refurb Watts, and as for the tyres, well I think they are going to be a massive hit!  A few more observations below.

Obviously it's very early miles yet Daz Auto, but I am already chuffed with them.  Instantly noticeable improvement over the outgoing Conti 5Ps, and I don’t say that lightly as I think 5P tyres are excellent.  The noise level is markedly quieter - had a good listen to them all the way home on mixed roads - motorway, dual carriageway, local roads, and much quieter, 5Ps are not the quietest tyre.  I’ve got the car on DCC Sport as it was before and I deliberately drove (moderate pace) over some rough potholed roads (that's most of the roads round my way!) and the PS4S feel to absorb the potholes much better, I was a bit shocked by it, wasn’t expecting such a difference. But best of all is how they just feel overall, the car feels as though it is properly part of the road, an extension of it and unbelievably grounded, more so than the usual planted sure-footedness of the R.  I’ve done about 60 miles on them overall today and the car feels better than ever before.  It doesn’t detract from the fact that Conti 5Ps are a great tyre and they've stood my cars in good stead for overall years, but if these early observations are anything to go by, I think the PS4S are something very special.

Looking great Bec, I too have just changed to Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (no S version available in 18") after a long time on other tyres (Last 70k miles on Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric on the Golf and another 20k on the Alfa I had before) Only done about 10 miles so no real impressions yet but looking forward to finding out!

Wish I was closer to Lepsons!
