Having been behind three R's this week  I've had a re-think in regards to my rather indifferent views in the past.
I now know that it's not the R that I'm not keen on, it's Lapiz blue
The three R's I saw were white, red and black and they all looked great to me.
I know plenty of people love Lapiz but I think I just hate blue cars.

I know exactly what you mean.  I've never been a blue car person but despite that I did have Lapiz as my second choice.  I love the R in Tornado Red (unlike the Mk6 R which really didn't suit red), but again am not a red car person either, lol.  I do think the Limestone Grey looks very good on the R in the flesh, a head turner.  Course Carbon Grey would have been my second choice (maybe the first) but not an option.   All things considered I like the DBP.  Reflex Silver is also a great colour for the R.
Is tungsten not an option on the R ?
If not, VW have certainly sold the car short as far as colour choice goes.
Off topic but I need to get it off my chest....one of my customers has just bought a new RS3 and it is seriously hideous!!
It is a sh!tty looking orange colour with dark tinted glass and alloy wheels that protrude about 10mm from the tyre.
It also has the completely pointless aluminium look mirrors that clash with everything.
Just thought I'd mention it

There's no accounting for taste with some folk but I'd take an RS3 over an R any day of the week
You certainly wouldn't be buying it for it's looks that's for sure

The R is not much to write home about in the looks department, some may say that it's understated looks are its strength, i just think it looks boring as hell apart from the quad exhausts

It's understated looks are its strength.

The front actually looks much more aggressive the flesh than in photos.

Just come back from the dealers and they had a gorgeous LSG R in the showroom.
Probably due to it being under the perfect lighting but it was seriously stunning

It's a colour that looks quite bland on a normal Golf but seems elevated on an R, something about the design of the R suits it.  When I saw one in the flesh a few minths ago I nearly crashed mine in the process of ogling it.

I know just what you mean, it seems made for that particular body shape.
I still like yours the most Rebecca so don't trade it in for LSG just yet

Yeah,I think you are right-If I was going to order a new car and pick a colour I dont think I would be brave enough to order LSG. Resale values anyone?

Well I'm not flighty in my car habits - the R, in DBP flavour, will be with me for 3 years minimum.  I'm a bit like Mr Ex (Exonian) -  stuck happy with boring great Golfs.

But if I see another LSG R, I can't guarantee there won't be drooling taking place.
