My new year you could probably pick up a GTI PP up for under £20k with factory warrant intact

R32 might be overrated to some, but personally I'm not interested in pushing up power of cars. If I want power I buy a car with more.

The R32 just makes me smile whenever I get in it - a whoosh on the throttle and the resulting song is always sure to pull up the corners of my mouth

think it the 6R's are too old to justify their price now, I suspect that a tuned and well specced 6GTI cant be far off the 6R, I'd go for the 7.
