Suspension GTD
« on: 25 September 2015, 12:42 »
Hi,

My suspension on my 2010 (Feb) GTD is leaking fluid so i am looking to replace.  I have been quoted at VW for both front and rears at £900 which seems crazy to me.

Can anyone recommend any aftermarket suspension, i'm not really looking to lower it though.

Thanks,

Martin

If you aren't looking to change the ride height, why not just get an independent to fit a pair of shocks?

Weighing up my options at the minute, just wondered what was out there...

I might be in the same boat as you.

As jv says, get a quote from an independent for a like-for-like and then also look at some after market options.

A subtle 5-10mm drop does make the stance look much better without compromising the ride and when I looked last year the cost of the shocks/springs was equal or less than the VW ones.

It's the fitting that was pushing the price up when I looked.

Yeah thought the fitting might be the expense.  A bit disappointed in mine, shouldn't really need new shocks it's only 5 years old/79k.  Had a Clio 182 previously and it only needed a new wiper motor in 132k
