Race glaze Water Filter
« on: 24 September 2015, 22:45 »
This arrived last week.

Raceglace Refillable 0ppm 7 litre water filter.

Been wanting to get one for ages and finally got around to ordering it in prep for my R arriving.  Living in a very hard water area is an uphill battle with water marks, especially as I usually have to wash/dry my car in direct sunlight.  I'd like to keep the R as free from water marks as possible, so took the plunge with this.  Can't wait to try it out and shouldn't be too long as will be picking my new R up next Weds so might be able to put it to the test later that week.

Will post a little review up when I've tried it out.

Direct from Raceglaze, Kyle.

http://www.raceglaze.co.uk/car-care-exterior/wash/400-litre-0ppm-car-washing-filter/

Initial outlay is not cheap at £99 but it's refillable and the replacement filter resin packs are £45.  For someone who washes their car pretty much weekly it's cost effective in the longer term.

Cheers for that, how often do you think you'll have to replace the resin?

No idea yet.  The harder the water, the more frequently you have to change them.  I was going to just use it for final rinse but someone else who has a similar one, advises using it for the full wash phase which will increase the need for refills.

I might (if it's not too much of a faff) just use it for final rinse in winter or on overcast days, and use for whole wash in summer or on very sunny days, as it's the direct sunlight that causes water too dry too quick that's the main problem.

Anyway, I will keep tabs on the usage and let you know how long it lasts over this winter till I have to buy a refill if that's any help.

Yeah that'd be great booth cheers. I'm interested because although the water isn't too hard here, in the sun the water dries too fast and leaves bad water marks. I've heard these eliminate them and some people have even been able to let the sun dry their car.
