and they have agreed registration in January to make it a 2016 reg.

It'll need registering in march to be a 2016 Reg not January. It'll be 65 plate in January still.

No it will be a 2016 Reg as he said (but on a 65 plate)

Unless he's in Northern Ireland.

If it is mainland Britain, having it on a 65 plate but being Jan 16 registered will not affect it's residual value appreciably vs a Sept 15 car on a 65 plate. To the buying public 3 years down the line it will look as old as a Sept 15 car. If I was due a car at the end of Jan, i'd make them wait to March 1st to register it, a 16 plate will be worth a fair bit more than a Jan 16 registered 65 plate car.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

If you're not too bothered about Colour & Spec you can pretty much get an R for immediate delivery.  I was originally quoted 6-9 month lead time by my local dealer so I opted to go down the "Carwow" route.

Within an hour I had found a 5 door Lapiz Blue Manual (with Disc Nav & Car Net) with a 10% discount and a September delivery.

Just yesterday I was sent some new offers

Manchester VW currently have for immediate delivery (9.6% discount)

3dr TR DSG
5dr LB Manual

London City VW (9.3% discount)

5dr TR DSG (Rear cam, DCC, Leather, Winter Pack, keyless)
5dr BP DSG (Rear cam, Sunroof, Leather, Disc Nav, Keyless)

Be quick though as the offers go quick
