R lead time

Hi Newbie here

I am in the process of ordering a new R (3dr DSG Lapiz blue 19" and Leather) I have been told by the dealer the lead time for a factory order is 9 months !! is this right !

OMG...

What were the changes my2015 to my2016 ??

They have a 3dr Lapiz dsg with 18" in the show room but it laks the 19"s I prefer and no leather ...

Does the MY16 have a starter button now ?

I ordered an R last week and have been told it will be 6 months. Car is a manual 5 door in Night Blue. Only option is Car-Net.

Look on the bright side, you might get the new changes to a my 2017 car  :whistle:

I don't think there were many changes on the R for my 2016.

Lead times have been getting close to normal recently on the R

Most r's at the moment are coming through in 14-18 weeks ; )

Can you confirm if it is still the Prets causing daft lead times? Seems to have been the common factor previously.

My local dealers were quoting 6 months - I suggest you go to the Orangewheels web site to get a discount price for your config.  If you like the price they will refer you directly to an authorised VW dealer - Inchcape in Swindon is one but they use others - who will handle the deal directly, they pay Orangewheels not you - you pay deposit and deal only with the authorised VW dealer.

I am buying through Inchcape and they sell so many Golfs they have a series of orders already placed which on they can modify the spec on as long as they have not yet been built.

I ordered a fully loaded 5 door DSG on the 5th of September and have been given a firm delivery date mid December - and they have agreed registration in January to make it a 2016 reg.

May not be the closest dealer to you but the discount saving and early delivery is worth the compromise and service and warranty is valid at any VW dealer so no issue there.

No it will be a 2016 Reg as he said (but on a 65 plate)
