My VW Golf MK 6, engine 1.2 TSI year 2010 is misfiring. The vehicle would not keep idle i haved to keep foot on the pedal. The warning light which I get is the ESP (the car skidding sign).
Had similar problem last year (not as bad) but the warning last time was the engine management light when the garage found that error code was P0171 (system rich). Eventually they found that the wire from the no 3 cylinder charge plug was damaged and was replaced which cured the problem.
The error light which comes on is the ESP lamp which stays on. Intermittently the engine management light comes on as well.
When I start the vehicle, I have to push the accelerator hard, otherwise the engine stalls. The engine stalls after it does about 200 yards and whenever the speed is slow.
Have booked the car into the same garage I had reapaired it earlier but they can only see it on Monday.
Should I take it to the VW service station. They usually do not have any slots for weeks.
Is there I can do meanwhile? Just getting worried that I will be without the car for long and end up with a huge bill. The car only 5 years old and has done 20000 miles. I bought it from a small reseller 3 years back.
